Prices and payments
All prices we send you are quoted in USD and upon request in Tanzanian Shillings at the then current exchange rate. Prices are only guaranteed when paid in full. Changes may occur due to factors outside our control for example through currency fluctuations, changes in park entry fees or extreme changes in fuel prices. Any changes will be communicated as soon as possible.
To secure your booking a 50% non-refundable deposit per person is required. Final Payment is due 30 days prior to departure unless stated otherwise. Payments can be made via bank deposit or cash/cheque for local clients.
Changes and Cancellations
Cancellation of a holiday must be made in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification. As we may incur considerable costs if you cancel, we will retain your deposit and may impose the following cancellation charges: 30 or more days prior to departure – deposit, 20 - 10 days before departure - 50%, 10 - 3 days before departure - 75%, 48 hours or less before departure - 100%. We strongly advise you to take out suitable insurance to cover such potential losses.
If we are forced to cancel your trip for reasons beyond our reasonable control ("force majeure") we will offer you the choice of a full refund of any monies paid or an alternative trip. Magufwa will accept no liability for any costs incurred by you for anything other than the monies paid to us for the trip.
If you wish to change your itinerary after a deposit has been made we will do our utmost to make the changes required, provided that notification is received in writing. Every change is subject to a fee depending on your amendments.
We strongly advise that you arrange travel insurance prior to departure to cover all your travel arrangements. Talk to your insurer about the various plans you might have (climbing Kilimanjaro, safari, scubadiving) and about what is included/excluded in the insurance in the event of an emergency. If your plans change, we can help you to arrange additional insurance at a reliable insurance office in Arusha.
Please ensure that you are aware of health requirements and recommended precautions for visiting Tanzania. Consult your local doctor or a specialist travel medical service to receive all the necessary vaccinations and make sure you carry all your vaccination documents on you when travelling. It doesn't happen often but failure to present required vaccination documentation (e.g. proof of Yellow Fever vaccination) may deny you entry into a country and it is better to be safe than sorry.
We do not accept any liability for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers over whom we have no direct control, force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control or which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part. These booking terms and conditions together with all correspondence form part of your contract with Magufwa. This contract and any matters arising from it shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Tanzanian law and the courts of Tanzania shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any and all proceedings between us either relating to our contract or arising out of it. I you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant organiser (camp/hotel manager/Safari guide) immediately and he will endeavour to put things right. If your problem cannot be resolved you need to contact the our office so that we have the opportunity to investigate and rectify the problem.
Marketing and Privacy
Magufwa reserves the right to use any photographs and videos taken during tours for marketing or any other advertising material. The client hereby gives consent to use such photographs and authorises Magufwa to retain copyright for these photographs and such material. We are committed to protecting your privacy and agree to handle your personal information with care.
Magufwa and its owner, director, management staff and employees shall not be held responsible for any injury or death to persons on tour, nor for loss or damage to personal property, how ever they may be caused. The company draws your attention to the fact that there are certain inherent risks present when on Safari, or when engaging in any strenuous physical activity. It is your sole responsibility to obtain appropriate medical advice as to medication, immunization, and whether or not you are fit enough to undertake the trip, prior to departure. The client must at all times comply with the laws, customs and foreign exchange regulations of all countries visited.
"Force Majeure " means, in relation to the company, any circumstances beyond the control of the company (including and without limitation, acts of God, explosions, floods, tempests, fires, accidents, war or threat of war, sabotage, insurrection, civil disturbance or requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions or other outwards occurrences)
If Magufwa is affected by force majeure it shall forthwith notify you of the nature and extent thereof.
The company shall not be deemed to be in breach of these items and conditions or otherwise be liable to you, by reason of delay in performance, or by non-performance, of any of its obligations hereunder to the extent that any such delay or non-performance is due to any force majeure.
If the company is affected by force majeure it shall be entitled to, and may at its sole and absolute discretion, vary or cancel any reservations or cancel any reservation or arrangement in relation to the visits. Payment of any refund by the company to you as result of the non-performance of any company shall use its reasonable endeavors to reimburse you where possible. However, the company shall be entitled to deduct from any refund recoverable to the reasonable actual and potential costs to the company of the force majeure.
The payment of the deposit or any other partial payment for a reservation constitutes consent to all provisions of the Terms and Conditions. The Terms under which you agree to make the reservation cannot be changed or amended unless this is done in writing and signed by an authorized staff of the company.
